Mindfulness Meditation

Gentle yoga and then breath meditation followed by a reading or talk and discussion. New meditators will be guided during the meditation.

Every 2nd and 4th Wednesdy of September to June, beginning September 25th.

$20 per session (drop-ins welcome). $15.00 per session if you purchase a set of 5 tickets, to be used whenever you wish.

The theme of the short readings and talks is Developing a peaceful mind and heart. These are based on the teachings of the Buddha and the secular teachings of Jon Kabatt-Zinn, founder of the renowned course on mindfulness-based stress reduction (mbsr).

The broad outline of the teachings is: Fall - meditation and mindfulness; Winter - recognizing and reducing irritation and anger; Spring - recognizing and reducing anxiety. While it's preferable to begin attending the sessions earlier rather than later, the teachings are generic and new participants are welcome at any time during the year.

Please bring a yoga mat, if possible.

Chairs, benches and cushions for meditation are available.

Please do not park less than 5 feet from anyone's driveway.
