My website sets out the name of the course I teach - Mindfulness Meditation. Underneath this name, the tagline which I recently changed reads Self-awareness and happiness. This is the major purpose of practicing meditation and mindfulness.

Mindful Meditation

If you would like to practice, learn about and discuss meditation and mindfulness (M&M), please join us on Thursday evenings from 8 to 9 in the Crystal Beach Lakeview Community Centre (CBLCA) in Ottawa'a west-end 2 kilometres west of Bayshore Shopping Mall. The Maki House Community Centre is at 19 Leeming Drive (see map on Contact page).


At present, the classes are scheduled to run during April to June every Thursday except sometimes the second Thursday of the month. The dates when it will not be held are:

-   May 16

-   June 20

Each meeting provides 20-30 minutes of guided breath meditation, followed by a short reading/talk and discussion period.


There is a $10 fee for each session. If you are not a member of the CBLCA, you will need to sign up as a member and pay the $10 annual fee. You can become a member whether you live in e neighborhood or not. 


 Meditation is a type of training to help us be more mindful during the day. Mindfulness helps us live more fully, effectively and joyfully.
